Objectives of the meeting

The overall aim of this technical meeting is to review the administrative, scientific and regulatory requirements for applications related to GMO 
(see draft program).

Potential topics to be discussed include:

  • Exchange views on administrative and scientific requirements for GMO applications;
  • State of play on GMO applications.
  • Discuss current and future challenges.
  • Structure of the meetings

The technical meeting will be organised in a way that provides for an interactive exchange of views. Participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback and to participate in the various discussions, following the scientific presentations. After the event a summary of the discussion as well as the presentations given during the meeting will be published on the EFSA website.

Who should attend?

The EFSA technical meeting is intended for applicants in the field of GMO.

In order to ensure a thorough discussion, participation is limited to a maximum of 40 participants, including speakers and other experts already 
identified by EFSA. Interested applicants are requested to register and to indicate their affiliation and area(s) of expertise in order to be considered
for participation via EFSA’s website:  http://registerofquestions.efsa.europa.eu/roqFrontend/meetingsub/meeting.... Participants will be selected to
ensure a sufficient representation of the various fields of expertise, as well as a balanced representation of different companies. EFSA will inform the
registered participants about their participation to the Info Session.

On-line registrations

Please note that registration may close once the maximum number of participants is reached or at the latest by 23 October 2015. After closure of registration, potential participants will be informed whether or not they have been selected for participation.

Dates and venue       

The EFSA Info Session on Applications – GMO – Technical meeting with applicants will be held on 26-27 November 2015, for two half days at EFSA premises in Parma, Italy. Further details on the venue and logistics will be communicated to participants upon confirmation of selection.
